Comments:
   This is the first of two uses of Obverse P1 and the only use of Reverse PB in 1865.
Based on photographic evidence we believe that the 1865 PB reverse was also used to strike the 1866 no motto coins, 1866 OC-P1.


Obverse P1

Obverse P1 features minor die doubling that’s most visible on the lower hem of Miss Liberty’s gown. This makes this die rather easy to identify. The following photo shows the attribution grid with the arrows pointing to the doubling on the gown hem.

Reverse PB

The easiest identifier for Reverse PB is the LACK of doubling on UNITED. Contrast the first photo below with the the doubling on UNITED on Reverse PA shown in the second photo.
